Through office-generated programs and close collaboration with the undergraduate Schools and campus partners, Penn First Plus endeavors to offer timely events that address the questions and needs of first-generation and lower-income undergraduates. First-Gen Alumni Open Hours

Penn First Plus and Penn First Plus Alumni Relations are excited to launch First Gen Alumni Open Hours. Join us every Friday in February for a casual pop-in where you can ask your candid questions about life after college and what it means to find success! For our premiere session, we’re excited to host Ashish Rughwani, W’95, E’95, co-chair of the P1P Alumni Association!
Khari Austin-Rawls, C’16 – International Relations & East Asian Languages and Civilizations Dual Major
Khari is a Penn alum currently serving as Chief of Staff to the CEO of Goldcast, a B2B AI startup that was recently acquired. Prior to his current role, he earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and spent several years at The Walt Disney Company working across strategy, marketing and analytics.
Throughout his career, he has made mentorship a consistent priority, volunteering as a tutor, teacher, and career coach to students at various stages of their journeys, so he’s excited to offer guidance to the next generation of Penn graduates.
In his free time, Khari enjoys playing tennis, volunteering at film festivals, creative writing, and discovering new music. He’s happy to chat about any of those topics as well!

Karen Rodriguez is a FGLI Penn grad who studied Operations, Information, and Decisions at Wharton and Political Science in the College. She grew up in Miami, was born in Mexico City, and is of Cuban descent. After starting her career at BCG, Karen became a Director on the Corporate Strategy and Operations team at Corient, a fast-growing, soon-to-be global asset and wealth management firm. She leads high-impact initiatives focused on building new functions, driving large-scale technology transformations, and supporting the firm’s growth.
